What I am loving for the Fall season, Recipes of my own. Showing off my plush throws! Plus, a chance to win an Aisling Design giveaway!!

First, and foremost. I have to just say; I cannot believe we are already into the fall season. Time seems to just be racing by. With the crisp air in our presence, walking around stores, and, seeing fall and Halloween decor is getting me ready to put away all my Summer flower pots and embark on the Fall Harvest; which is just a few days away!

I have already started the process of packing up Summer apparel and digging out my Fall cozies and coats. I like to think of my preference in apparel, to closely align with my design style (classic). While Boho and Mid Century Modern are still all the rage. I personally don’t go down the consumer pathway of trend as it ends up being a waste of money and resources. Classic is deemed “classic” for the very explicit reason it has its name. They are timeless pieces, that never go out of style. I do however, love to find new upbeat and cause associated brands to support. I have a few I will share with you that are simply amazing must haves:

  1. Viscata Barcelona

If you have not stumbled across these shoes, they are a must!!! They are timeless in their style, yet very comfortable. Finally! A shoe that has form and function for us ladies. They also are eco friendly, handcrafted, and they support environmental causes. With every purchase, they plant a tree. I love them so much in fact, I have two pairs in my closet 🙂

  1. Warby Parker

These guys have been around for over a decade. But, hands down they are the most innovative with prescription glasses, and, sunglasses on the market. They were one of the first eyeglass companies to offer low price, yet super stylish script glasses. They  were the major innovators of the “try before you buy policy”. Cool, eh? I still buy at least one pair of glasses from them each year. If you haven’t looked at their glasses, you definitely should! Did I mention that they too also have a causation platform of marketing? They donate a pair of eye glasses to a child in need for your every purchase. Another reason I love them!

  1. Edwards Green House

Okay, So if you don’t live in Idaho, i’m sorry you never get to go visit this absolutely exquisite Greenhouse. I like to take my daughter there just to look at all the beautiful plants and their amazing gift shop! There are so many great finds that are unique, and, typically made by local artists here in Boise. Their floral shop ran by Matt is by far the best arrangements and quality flowers in Boise. I highly recommend them for events, weddings, and bouquets for any special occasion. This is also Mum season! My most favorite flower aside from Hydrangeas. They are fairly inexpensive and the best part is that these hardy little plants love being in cold weather. What most people don’t  know is that you should plant them in the ground by mid November! It’s assumed these are annuals because of their seasonality, when in fact they are perennials. I have a wonderful collection in my own garden from each fall that I have used them in my topiaries. When all my summer flowers start to die back these guys come in full bloom for a magnificent fall flower show in the garden!

  1. My own White chicken Chile Recipe!!

I thought this might be a good recipe to include, it’s football season and sweater weather! If you’re anything like me, I get bored of eating hearty beef traditional chilli in the Fall. This recipe is a great dish for parties, and, more casual family dinners. The best part; it only takes twenty minutes to prepare!

Ingredients:

two full sized chicken breasts

one can of diced green chiles

One can of cream of corn

one can of black beans

one cup half and half

Half of a chopped yellow onion

garlic salt and pepper

First, fully cook the chicken breasts (I prefer to do this in the stove as the slow cooking helps keep the chicken moist). In a pan, on medium heat add in half and half, cream of corn, and black beans, and, diced green chiles, paired with your garlic salt and pepper (season to desired taste). Allow all ingredients to simmer. When chicken cools, dice it up and add it to your pan. Allow to simmer for five minutes. I personally like to garnish this dish with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and cilantro!

I hope you get to try this as it’s one of my families most favorite dishes of mine:)

  1. Plush throws with a unique twist:

So, I kept trying to design a concept of an adult version of my designer brand minky that I use on my loom blankets. The kinky is always the eye catcher (aside from my meticulas detail in embroidery). I use Shannon Minky as it is the most quality minky out there. And, admittedly I have wanted to snuggle up to this amazing textile since I had my hands on it. I will be selling these at West Elm through the fall season and a few events like the Idaho Botanical Garden‘s Fall Harvest Festival. Or, if you can’t catch these events, they will be available on my website www.aislingdesigning.com
